OBX 2012

We joined the Waite clan for our biannual family vacation (we try not to refer to it as a "reunion" due to the negative connotations associated with that word:), this time in Waves, NC. This location was a little farther south than we had been before but was still the great ol' OBX we know and love. I'll let the photos do the talking. (In no particular order...)
Grandpa and the boys chasing the waves.
Trying to break-up the mundane "traditional family photo" shoot on the beach.
P.S. the "professional" photographer we had was mediocre, at best.
Lots of hours doing this. Here are the big boys christening the pool.

Each night someone was in charge of a family activity/devotional. Of course mom AKA "Martha Stewart" blew us all out of the water with this amazing treasure hunt and story of the legend of Captain Blackbeard.

We all had beads, eye patches, tattoos, and head scarves to help us get into character. We had to speak pirate which was fun for all.
The boys examining the authentic Blackbeard's treasure map.

Learning about our upcoming adventures in order to reach the "X" on the map.
Finding the treasure amidst dodging fiddler crabs at night on the beach. Check out that BOOTY!
Me and my sibs. Love em'!
 The cutest grandkids... EVER!
Priceless.... The wet bum is courtesy of an unsuspecting wave--it's not what you think;)
The dunes. Love the oat grass!
The whole fam dam OBX 2012 picture.
This rarely happens and I SWEAR it wasn't staged. Moments like this make me smile and shed a tiny proud-mommy-tear. This would probably never happen once they're over the age of 12.
Our crazy brood. We love these vacations and can't wait for the next one!

About Me

To make a long fairy-tale story short: We met while teenagers, both ended up attending college at BYU, we dated "seriously" (or not...) and were married in 2000. We now have the three cutest little boys in the world, well, 4 counting the dog.
