Zack and I celebrated our 10th anniversary by returning to our honeymoon locale: Western Colorado. We spent our "bike 'till ya die" trip by hitting epic trails all over the west side of the state. We started out in Fruita and Grand Junction then headed off to Durango, Cortez, Crested Butte, Gunnison, and spent a few nights at Zack's parent's house in Johnstown... where we weren't biking-- but visiting with family, doing laundry, and packing.
For us sea-level-lunged flat-landers 10,000+ feet elevation was interesting. We actually had to think about breathing. I feel for all those with sleep apnea out there:).
Everywhere you looked there were gorgeous mountains everywhere! We couldn't get enough!
The Secret Stash has the most amazing pizza we've ever had in our lives! If you're ever in the Crested Butte area it is worth the long wait to eat perfection or to check out the ambiance!We had an absolute blast during our week of biking! Luckily we made it out with no broken bones and only a few flat tires:). Thanks mom and dad for watching the munchkins and dog for us.
Here's to another 10 years!! Maybe by then we'll be LIVING in Colorado instead of visiting it :)
